By 1971 the building became the consolidated headquarters for the Flecto Company, the famous inventors of Varathane wood finishes. When the era of heavy manufacturing faded from the corridor, this particular industrial relic was saved from the wrecking ball. In 2008 Laconia Development completed a striking transformation, building out and up from the original concrete shell to create a 79-unit residential loft community.
